I survived the 2nd weigh in and the number went down on the scale!  I lost 3.8lbs in 4 weeks.  So almost 1lb a week and just shy of halfway to my 5% target.  My sister and I had a competition with my dad to see who could lose the most weight.  Us against him.  I weighed in first and then he weighed in.  He lost 11.2lbs.  I thought for sure we were going to lose.  Ann was going to have to lose over 7.4lbs for us to win.  The winners are being treated to a movie of their choice.  Ann weighed in and came back to us with a big smile on her face.  She lost 10lbs!!  Amazing!!  So, we are hopefully going to the movies this weekend!  I would like to see Safe Haven.  Hope my dad is the in the mood for a chick flick!

In all seriousness though, I need to focus just a little bit harder.  I still do a lot of mindless snacking that I don't track on myfitnesspal.  I am challenging myself to track everything that I eat for the next 4 weeks.  They say those that write down everything they eat lose more than those that don't.  Hopefully that coupled with my exercising will help me to get to the 5% target by the next weigh in on March 23rd!

I survived Valentines Week!  I allowed myself to splurge on Valentines Day.  My sister and I met for lunch and then we went out for ice cream at Mitchell's.  It was so good.  But I found that halfway through my bowl of ice cream, it was almost too sweet for me.  I have been eating healthier and not eating as many sweets so I have lost a little bit of my taste for them.  Don't worry, I persevered and ate it all!  =)  Can't let ice cream go to waste!

I am finding that I am getting burned out on working out.  Granted I only go about 3-4 times a week, but it is a lot when you have 3 kids ages 5 and under, work a full time job and have a house to run.  I really didn't want to go to my step class last night, but I went anyway and was glad I did.

This weekend is our next weigh in.  I am hoping to have lost 3-4lbs when I step on the scale.  I know that is at least what my scale says.  I will try to not be too disappointed if it doesn't though!  It is a process making lifestyle changes...

Well, another week down.  I surprisingly lost 1.6lbs last week!  I must admit, I was pleasantly surprised.  I need to keep it up until the weigh in next weekend!  I am finding it easier to stick to eating healthier because I don't limit myself.  I allow myself to have sweets and salty snacks.  I just make sure to track the calories.  It is very eye opening to see how many calories you are eating in one day.  You think you aren't eating that much, but it really adds up.  I have still been excercising 4-5 times a week which is really helping.  All the muscle I was building (and gaining) it helping me to burn those extra calories!  It also helps that most of the chocolate is out of the house now too!  =)

Another week down, and still no real weight loss.  I have no one to blame but myself!  I made chocolate chip cookies this weekend to get the chocolate chips out of the house so I would stop eating them.  But what do I do, I eat the cookie dough and the cookies!  At least I can't eat the chocolate chips anymore!  =)  I have felt victory in my working out.  I go to the YMCA at least 3 times a week for excercise classes.  When I excercise I feel better about myself and I can notice a difference in how my clothes fit.  I am trying not to be too hard on myself since I just had a baby 7 months ago.  Pregnancy can be rough on a woman's body.  I just read an email from my dad and it reminded me that I am doing a competition with my sister against him.  If I don't get my act together, we will lose!  I don't want to carry the weight of that on my shoulders!  A goal for this week is to record everything I eat in myfitness pal.  No snacking without recording.  The weekends are the hardest time for me to record.  I will check in next week to let you know how I have done!  It is very eye opening when you start writing down everything you eat.  The calories really add up!
